SEO for Schools - Hey all, I've been asked to take a look at SEO for my kids school (as a volunteer). Up until now, I have mainly done SEO for my own sites - and not local stuff at all.
The school is really struggling for money at the moment and enrollments are dropping.
It's a .edu.au site.
Edit: Its a primary school (Australian term?) for kids aged 5-13
I will obviously look at the basics: speed, content, blog, links, keywords etc. But Im wondering if anyone has any other tips for this?
Ideas for link building? Happy to hear any ideas or experience you have had from similar jobs.

1. build citations
2. google school + your area and look at what keywords the schools that come up are ranking for to help build your keyword list. Do the same for backlinks
3. claim and fill out their google maps listing completely. Add lots of pics
4. Search for a school and educational directories and make sure they are listed in all of them
5. Offer a scholarship of some sort and get it added to all the scholarship sites for backlinks
6. Start a review campaign of some kind for GMB. If you could figure out how to get parents to leave good reviews that would help
