I am building 50,60 backlinks/month, but Ahref is showing that i lost 14K Backlinks in 3 months. How is that possible & what should i do to bring the link graph up again?

It will depend on multiple things. Did you buy a new domain? If you bought an old domain then check the old backlink status. Maybe your website is carrying multiple backlinks before. Just let me know I will guide you further.

Compare your referring domains with your backlinks some directories forums and profile links auto-generate the backlinks suppose you created a single link in one domain but it will create multiple links automatically that is the error of law quality links and on the other side you have created a link on Forbes then it will show it one because Forbes do not autogenerate the links

@avamartinsss Agh, i think this is the case, because the refering domains are half of the total number of backlinks.

Thanks.

There are a couple of explanations for the discrepancy between your backlink building efforts and Ahrefs showing a loss of 14K backlinks. Here's a breakdown and what you can do:

Understanding the Discrepancy:

    1. Ahrefs Data Updates: Ahrefs updates its backlink data regularly, and it might take some time for newly built backlinks to be reflected. So, the 50-60 backlinks you're building might not yet be showing up.

    1. Link Loss: Unfortunately, it's possible that your website lost a significant number of backlinks in the past 3 months. This could be due to various reasons:

        • Low-Quality Backlinks: Search engines might devalue or remove low-quality backlinks, such as those from spammy websites.

        • Website Take-Downs: If websites linking to you went offline, those backlinks would be lost.

        • Content Changes: If the content on a website linking to you changed significantly, the link might no longer be relevant.

Rebuilding Your Link Graph:

Here's what you can do to address the situation:

    1. Focus on High-Quality Backlinks: Don't chase sheer numbers. Prioritize acquiring backlinks from relevant, high-authority websites. This demonstrates trust and credibility to search engines.

    1. Content Marketing: Create valuable and informative content that other websites would naturally want to link to. This is a sustainable way to build high-quality backlinks.

    1. Guest Posting: Reach out to relevant websites in your niche and offer to write guest posts that include a link back to your website.

    1. Broken Link Building: Find broken links on relevant websites and suggest your content as a replacement. This is a win-win, as you get a backlink and the website fixes a broken link.

    1. Monitor Your Backlinks: Use Ahrefs or other backlink monitoring tools to track your progress and identify any lost backlinks. Reach out to the website owners, if possible, to see if you can restore the link.

Remember: Building a strong backlink profile takes time and effort. Focus on quality over quantity, and prioritize strategies that will earn you natural backlinks from reputable sources.

Additionally:

    • Consider a Backlink Audit: Ahrefs or other SEO tools might offer backlink audit services. This can help you identify low-quality backlinks that might be harming your SEO and prioritize removal requests.

    • Disavow Low-Quality Backlinks: If you suspect you have a significant number of low-quality backlinks, you can disavow them using Google Search Console. This tells Google to disregard those links for ranking purposes. However, approach disavow files with caution, as improper use can negatively impact your SEO.

You can use ahrefs or semrush to see which links you lost recently and see if they are real links and not just automated/ all coming from the same domains.
